Our Body Projects

We always have some sort of project for our bodies, don’t we? If we’re not going through “project weight loss“, it might be “project healing” or “project power and strength“.

If you’ve stumbled upon this site – you can see the word “project” in the web address. The word “Project” is defined as something that is “contemplated, devised, and planned” or a “large major undertaking requiring concerted effort”. We believe these definitions accurately describe behavior change.

Changing your habits and behaviors to become a better person, create a better body and grow a better mindset can feel like (and actually become) a major undertaking. One that requires effort and focus.

You’ve tried the easy, spur of the moment tasks after a brief wave of motivation and feel the sting of failure. You wonder if we’ll ever be able to make a change and become the person you really wish to be.

As you experienced, your effort and energy for 5am workouts depletes quickly.  The planned meal plan is set aside after the trip to the market and meal prep is missed. Your focus on the goal becomes fuzzy as competing priorities insert themselves into your line of sight. Oh, the sting of failure. It leads to the fear that we won’t ever make it to the end of this major project.

That fear is rational! Successful change does require focus, time, effort and planning – it’s a project. If focus, time, effort and planning are a challenge, the project will be a challenge <insert scary feelings and “what-ifs” about failing at anything challenging>.

Though the fear of failure may remain, know that with every failure, you can LEARN and truly KNOW yourself better. You CAN develop skills to manage focus, discipline, energy and planning. As you get to know your true self and develop these key life management skills, you WILL succeed! And not just with your Project Body. This growth will spread into your relationships, your career and your finances.

Successful change occurs as a result of completion of several small steps.
